ITINERARY
Day 1: CUSCO - SANTA MARIA -
SANTA TERESA
(L), (D)
Around 7:30a.m. your guide will
pick you up from your hotel in
Cusco. A private transfer will
take you to the starting point
of the biking portion of the
trip. This ride will take about
3 hours and a half and on the
way you will observe spectacular
landscapes. Abra Malaga on the
way is the highest point located
at 14,300 feet above sea level.
At this point you will get your
safety equipment and bike and
you will start going downhill
for about 2 hours passing
through the small towns of
Wamanmarka, Chubamba and Huiro.
At Wamanmarka your guide will
show you the Inca ruins of the
town. The end of the biking will
be in Santa Maria where you will
enjoy lunch at a local
restaurant. Santa Maria is
located at 4,690 feet above sea
level and yellow fever shots are
highly recommended.

After lunch you will be taken to Santa
Teresa where you will enjoy the natural
hot springs of the town. In this area
you will camp and enjoy a delicious and
typical Peruvian meal known as
Pachamanca.
Day 2: SANTA TERESA - AGUAS
CALIENTES
(B), (L), (D)
Early in the morning you will
enjoy a light breakfast and then
your guide will take you to the
Santa Teresa Canopy which is the
highest Canopy in South America
including 6 zip lines. The views
of the Santa Teresa River are
just amazing. After a security
briefing you will hike for about
20 minutes to reach the first
zip line and start a lifetime
experience. A secure via ferrata
is included on this experience.
After canopy, we will provide
you a snack and we will take you
to the hydroelectric of Santa
Teresa where you will start a 4
hour hike. After about two hours
of hike you will arrive to the
gardens of Mandor where you will
observe several orchids and a
beautiful waterfall. Once in
Aguas Calientes you will be
accommodated at your hotel and
then you will enjoy lunch at a
local restaurant. At about
7:00p.m., dinner will be served
at a local restaurant
Today you will tour Machu Picchu
(7875 feet above sea level ),
either hiking there beginning at
4:30a.m. or taking a bus at
about 6:30a.m. Your guided tour
of Machu Picchu will last about
two hours. After that you will
have time to hike the Huayna
Picchu Mountain or just wander
around. In the afternoon, one or
two hours before your train
departure, you should take the
bus down to Aguas Calientes,
where you will take the
Backpacker train to
Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, you
will be driven to your hotel in
Cusco.
